Ooh Baby, Its a Wide World

Hi everyone!

Here is whats new:

Our little cherub has had a lot of firsts this month. She is rolling from her front to her back, babbling and cooing up a storm, smiling like crazy every time she sees mom and dad, and she has tried her first foods: bananas and pureed sweet potatoes.  She has found her first love (ok, third next to mom and dad) Flora and tries to pet her but usually just ends up swinging her arm in that general direction.  She has also started in swim lessons and seems to really like it, but probably just thinks she is in a huge bathtub since the water is 94 degrees.  Here are some pictures from this month’s hijinks.

Last day of Star Baby Contest, winner announced tomorrow!

Hi Everyone!

Today is the last day! Voting ends tonight at 12am PST, please click on the link below to vote, many times today!

You voted Lyla into the finals of the Star 94.1 Baby Contest. So now Lyla needs you more than ever. Your continued support and daily voting is what it is going to take for her to win it all (a $2,000 prize and her picture on a billboard).

Please go to this link to vote for Lyla: http://tiny-scp.us/lyla
Voting ends this coming Monday, so vote each day until then.

You can vote once per day per email address, up to three times per day from a single location. So, at home use your email address, your spouse/significant other’s email address, and your brother’s. Then at work use your work email address and two of your co-workers’ addresses. So, you can get 6 votes in per day. We recommend asking your coworkers permission to use their address, but Star does not send them anything. If you need extra email addresses, I have plenty, so just let me know (here is an easy one… just use your name @ianandsusie.com).

Thank you for voting, Lyla really appreciates your help.

NOLA, we heart you.

Last week Lyla and I flew to New Orleans to visit my friend Kim and her son AJ who is 13 months old. Lyla was fascinated by AJ and how quickly he is walking all around now. As usual, she was her pleasant self and was a great traveler.  This is a very good thing because she has already been on three trips and is less than 5 months old!

We walked around the French Quarter, had a delicious dinner at Emeril’s NOLA, and enjoyed an Easter Brunch and the then dinner with friends.  We even got to catch up with our sister in law’s sister, Colleen Mackay.  See our album for all of the pictures!

This **** is bananas?

Hello!

We hope you are all having a great week.

Four months have gone by waaaay too fast in this household.  Lyla tried her first bite of solid food today!  We had a lot of fun watching her try the bananas, but she was none too sure about it.  Here are the pictures:

First food!

And remember, the voting ends this Sunday for the Star Baby Contest so please vote every day from up to three email addresses.  We all appreciate it!  http://www.star941fm.com/pages/star-baby/vote-entrants.php?ag&gid=48#9

My Directoral Debut

As many of you know, I have been working for the past few years to make a feature-length film that I hope to ultimately release in theaters or at the least on DVD and blockbuster/Netflix. This will mark my debut as a Director on a feature project and I could not be more excited or feel more ready to finally turn my life-long dream into a reality.

The film is a narrative comedy titled Todd Lucas: Singer/Songwriter. Set in the mid 1980′s when synthesized riffs, regrettable fashion, big hair, and sexual ambiguity ruled the music scene, Todd Lucas: Singer/Songwriter blends the comedic flair of Flight of the Conchords with the deadpan humor epitomized by Napoleon Dynamite. We have been developing the script over the last 4 years and are now working hard on all the core pre-production activities and are on track to shoot the film starting this June. The schedule and budget are set, and we have cast our two main characters. The title Character (Todd Lucas) is to be played by Barrett Crake, and his Eternity band mate B.J. Fairchild is to be played by Myko Olivier.

Making a film is not a solitary enterprise… in fact it requires a whole team of people and a community of volunteers, actors, and financial backers. If you would like to get involved in the production there are a number of ways you can help:

First and foremost, you can visit the films website www.toddlucasthemovie.com to get all the latest info and updates and then like our page on facebook and encourage your friends to do the same.

Secondly, we are using Kickstarter to raise the additional funds we need to shoot the movie. It will cost a minimum of $100,000 to shoot Todd Lucas: Singer/Songwriter and have it be a quality picture that will be marketable. For those who aren’t familiar with it, Kickstarter is a website where films, art, music, or other creative projects routinely get backers to provide funding. However, projects are on an all-or-nothing basis; if the goal is not met, no money changes hands. Since we already have a big chunk of money invested, we are trying to raise a minimum of $50,000 on Kickstarter and we will need your help to do it! In exchange for your help, there are a bunch of cool rewards you can get (all the details are on the Kickstarter page). I urge you to visit our Kickstarter page (http://kck.st/H9YfYV), watch the video on the page, and then share it with your friends, family and colleagues via email, Facebook, Twitter (#TLSS), etc. Every bit counts so even $25, $10, or 5 bucks would be so appreciated.

Lastly, we are also offering a very lucrative investment opportunity for anyone looking to invest larger amounts of money. Investing in Todd Lucas: Singer/Songwriter will give you the opportunity to share in any profits that are realized through the sale and distribution of the film. We are offering a 150% return on investment and, pending legislative action later this year, you may be entitled to deduct your entire investment on next years taxes. For the broad strokes, you can view our website here, and then request a business plan, and subscription documents.

Four months old and I’m not so sure about this!

Hi everyone,

My mom took me to the doctor today.  They said something about a “well check” but it sure didn’t feel great when I got TWO shots.  Here is the evidence:

Sad face

All in all, the doctor was really happy with how I’m growing.  She said my head size is growing well and my length (22 inches) and weight (12.3 pounds)  are good too!  She was really impressed with how strong I am and told Mommy that I hold my head up really well.  Here is a picture of me practicing at mom’s exercise class this morning:

After a long day at Baby Boot Camp, the doctor, and then the grocery store, Mommy and Daddy still made me take a picture to document my fourth month.  I was so tired I couldn’t even muster a smile.  I feel kinda bad because I know they really wanted to make me smile. Oh well, there’s always next month!

Do I have to?
